Here is a favorite medal of mine- Maritime is a gorgeous 16”chain (matte gold or silver) made from dotted textured links and this amazing medal that was created for Chargeurs Réunis. This major French company formed in 1872, now known as Chargeurs, had some of the first ocean liners for pleasure. The medal originated in 1931 and is believed to be Marianne with a trident and horses on waves to represent the power of France on the sea.

Marianne has been the national personification of the French Republic since the French Revolution, as a personification of liberty, equality, fraternity and reason, as well as a portrayal of the Goddess of Liberty.
