Versailles is a gorgeous French 2-sided medal design featuring a 21-inch chain made of 12mm brass textured oval links.
The medal drop is another 3.75 inches long. The medal itself is a 34mm pewter reproduction of a commerce token in 4 styles as shown in last photos, each history below:
1-Mirror is for Saint-Gobain, a glass company still in business today, founded during the reign of Louis XIV, the Royal Manufactory of Mirror
2-Versailles is for notaries in France who are appointed by the Minister of Justice to act on behalf of the State. To encourage them to attend their meetings, “tokens” were given as a kind of internal currency for each company of notaries
3-Ship Crest is for City of Paris Contractors and has a crowned Parisian coat of arms on the front featuring a ship on the sea
4- Securitas is the Roman goddess of security portrayed with a snake and cornucopia symbolizing wisdom and prosperity. "Safety through Wisdom" is the inscription translated
